TURN OFF ALL POWER AND BREAKERS BEFORE STARTING INSTALLATION.

Route All SoftStart wires into electrical box, then crimp connectors onto SoftStart wires as shown in SoftStart box above.

Step 1. Follow Red Compressor wire FROM Compressor TO Contactor Block T1 terminal. Disconnect the wire, cut fork connector off, and crimp female connector onto Red Compressor wire. Connect to Blue SoftStart wire. Tape or use shrink sleeve on connection.

Step 2. Connect Black SoftStart wire on Contactor Block T1 male spade terminal behind where Red Compressor wire was.

Step 3. Connect Yellow SoftStart wire on a empty Run Capacitor “H” Herm terminal next to the Orange Compressor wire.

Step 4. IF you see a second Orange wire on a Run Capacitor “H” Herm terminal (indicates a start capacitor), you MUST disconnect and tape end shut, and drop wire.

Step 5. Follow Blk/Blu Compressor wire FROM Compressor TO Contactor Block T2 terminal. Disconnect and cut fork terminal off. Crimp female connector onto Blk/Blu Compressor wire. Connect to Brown SoftStart wire. Tape or use shrink sleeve on connection.

Step 6. Connect Red SoftStart wire on Contactor Block T2 male terminal behind where Blk/Blu Compressor wire was.

Turn Power ON, Set thermostat to 55ºF, then turn A/C ON. Look at SoftStart unit – Run LED 1 will be Green when compressor is running. After Green light turns ON, shut A/C down.

Replace cover, Turn A/C back ON. Raise thermostat just below current inside temperature and run A/C for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, operate normally.
